Annual Gala & Auction Raises $930,000 for The Miriam!
The Miriam Hospital hosted more than 450 donors, friends, and supporters at the Welcome to South Beach Gala, which took place Saturday, April 29, at the WaterFire Arts Center in Providence. Thanks to our generous donor community, proceeds will support The Miriam’s Greatest Needs Fund for a New Generation and the Women’s Cardiovascular Program at The Miriam.

The Miriam Hospital Women’s Association Raises $13,659!
At The Miriam Hospital Women’s Association Annual Meeting in June, it was announced that donations made through their Equipped for Exceptional Care 2023 event allowed them to purchase an MRI Screening Device for the MRI Department, a Dri-Scope Aid Jet Stream for the Endoscopy Department, and laptops and CPR Manikins for the Center of Professional Practice and Innovation. This equipment will greatly enhance the hospital’s care, commitment, and outstanding service to our patients and nursing staff. We couldn’t be more grateful for The Miriam Hospital Women’s Association’s continued support of The Miriam!

The Miriam Hospital Celebrates National Donate Life Month with Special Tribute
As part of National Donate Life Month in April, The Miriam Hospital installed a special floral portrait of Pawtucket resident and former patient Joseph Keenan in the hospital lobby on Wednesday, April 26. Keenan saved three people with the donation of his heart, liver, and kidneys at The Miriam in 2018.

Demons and Dragans: Mark Patinkin’s Cancer Journey
Longtime Providence Journal columnist Mark Patinkin’s cancer diagnosis is the subject of a new short documentary that debuted on June 13 at The Miriam Hospital where he was successfully treated. The 26-minute film by Dante Bellini Jr. is called “Demons and Dragans: Mark Patinkin’s Cancer Journey.” The screening of the film was followed by a panel discussion with Bellini, Patinkin, Dr. Dragan Golijanin, and Dr. Anthony Mega.
