Rhode Island Hospital received a “B” safety grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit upholding the standard of patient safety in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. The new grade reflects performance primarily during the height of the pandemic.

Grateful Patient Says His Heart Is in Good Hands

It was December 2002 and Jay Grutman was driving from his home in Rhode Island to his winter residence in Florida. But on a highway in South Carolina, he suffered a heart attack. After two weeks in a hospital there, he finally made it to the Sunshine State.
