Holiday Edition 2023
A Season of Thanks

May You Enjoy Good Health and Joy
This Holiday Season and in the New Year

My heart is full as I reflect on what philanthropy has helped to achieve at Bradley Hospital over the past year, including enhancing program capacity, investing in research, renovating playgrounds on campus, and supporting near-countless programs.

And when I say “we,” I mean all of us – all of us who care about the future of children and adolescents in a time when it is hard to listen to the news for fear of what we might hear. Throughout all the uncertainty, Bradley Hospital is forever a steady, forward-moving force for the future. For what can make children whole. For what makes joy possible.

Our collective gratitude for your support throughout the year is both heartfelt and true. There are many ways to support Bradley and honor friends and family during this season of giving; below I share a few examples, though the Greatest Needs Fund and any program or area you choose are always options. If now is not the time, save them for later – while the need is always here, we promise that Bradley Hospital will be too.

With gratitude,

AMS

Fidgets

Fidget Toys: What Are They and
How Can They Help Children and Adults?

A Lifespan Blog from The COAST Clinic at Bradley Hospital

We’ve seen them everywhere – fidgets. They’re growing in popularity, among both kids and adults, but what is their true purpose? Why should we use them? They are often referred to as fidget “toys” but they can serve as more than a toy. As occupational therapists, we tend to prefer the word "tools." Although fidgets may appear fun and enjoyable, they serve a beneficial purpose that can be a great tool in our regulation and attention toolboxes.
