A Salute to Health, Newport Hospital’s Summer Soiree
Honoring Ginny and Jim Purviance, Raises $719,140

With a pleasant breeze rolling off the water complemented by picturesque views of Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay, more than 400 friends of Newport Hospital gathered at the historic Eisenhower House on Thursday, July 6, for the hospital’s 2017 summer soirée, A Salute to Health.

Serving as the hospital’s largest annual fundraiser and an opportunity to honor longtime donors Ginny and Jim Purviance, the event raised $719,140 to benefit programs with the most crucial funding needs. Of the total raised, the evening’s special fund-A-need generated $385,850 to support the expansion of Newport Hospital’s Behavioral Health Services Program by launching a new partial hospitalization program for patients struggling with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders.
