The Miriam Hospital Gala, Experience the Northern Lights, Raises $783,195

More than 550 guests filled the WaterFire Arts Center in Providence on Saturday, April 21, when The Miriam Hospital hosted its 2018 gala and auction, Experience the Northern Lights. Representing the hospital’s largest annual fundraiser, the event inspired by the grandeur of the Aurora Borealis raised $783,195. Read more>

The Miriam People Society is comprised of donors who have made a gift of $1,000 or more on an annual basis and Founders who have cumulative giving of $25,000 or more to the hospital over their lifetime. These special supporters are invited to the annual Miriam People Dinner. This year’s dinner will be hosted by Suzanne and Almon Hall and will feature keynote speaker, Ilse Jenouri, MD, MBA, FACEP, medical director of The Miriam Hospital emergency department. Living Heritage Society Luncheon

A group of donors gathered at the University Club on June 5 for The Living Heritage Society luncheon, a celebration of gratitude for those individuals who support our hospital in their wills, retirement accounts, or trusts. We are extremely grateful to the Living Heritage Society members of The Miriam Hospital, whose generosity is helping us to accomplish our mission of Delivering Health with Care, well into the future.

Project Search’s Annual Graduation Program

Project Search held its annual graduation program at The Miriam Hospital on Friday, June 8, 2018. For the past four years, dozens of Providence School Department students with intellectual disabilities have been able to participate in this life-changing program that prepares them for the workforce. Four of the six graduates this year have landed jobs at The Miriam.

Doctor's Orders: Less Meat, More Olive Oil

Published in Rhode Island Monthly. Dr. Mary Flynn, a Miriam Hospital nutritionist and Brown University associate professor, developed the Healing Foods Project, a plant-based, extra virgin olive oil diet that improves health and decreases food insecurity.

Dr. Flynn also shares a recipe for Spinach, Beans & Pasta
