Ride ‘Round Rhody 2013 will raise more than $100,000 to support local cancer treatment. The bike-a-thon takes place on August 11th, beginning and ending at Bryant University, in Smithfield, RI. Volunteers will be needed on August 10th and primarily on August 11th, at Bryant and other locations along the route, throughout northwestern Rhode Island.

Volunteer support is essential to Ride ‘Round Rhody. You have the opportunity to create a meaningful, successful event for your community. The riders in the event will appreciate your effort, donors will appreciate your generosity of time and energy, and most importantly, your family, friends and neighbors who are battling cancer will have a better shot at returning to health, because you volunteered for Ride ‘Round Rhody.

You are welcome to register individually or as part of a group. It is recommended to volunteer with a group, as this enhances your experience and simplifies the process.

Group/Team Registration: A single Team Leader will submit the registration for all team members. When registering as a team, you are able to select a specific volunteer assignment from those listed below, or complete the Open Registration form, and list multiple preferences. If your team/group name corresponds with a cycling team, your volunteer team will help with their status in the cycling team competition. Multiple volunteer teams can share a team name, if they represent the same group/company.

Individual Registration: Those who register individually will be able to select their preferences using the Open Registration option. This option is also good for people registering in pairs, who would like to work in one of the areas requiring more than two people per team.

All volunteers are encouraged to attend a training/information session and volunteer appreciation event, scheduled for the afternoon of July 28. Details to follow.

All volunteers will receive an event t-shirt and goodie bag, that will include things like a LIFEcycle water bottle, cowbell, and other items.

Times listed with shifts are approximate, and may vary. They will be confirmed at the volunteer training event.
