Bravo Bradley 2022

A Record $1.2 Million Raised
During Bravo Bradley!

Bradley Hospital raised a record $1.2 million during its largest annual fundraiser, Bravo Bradley, held on June 24 at the Aquidneck Club in Portsmouth. The hospital’s donor community took its already incredible generosity to a new level at a time when it is needed more than ever – amid the current national pediatric mental health crisis.

“It was amazing to see the community come together like never before in support of our patients and their families,” said Henry Sachs, MD, Bradley Hospital’s president.

Titled “Together Brighter Futures are Possible,” the gala was held in an outdoor tent against a backdrop of colorful décor and sweeping views of Narragansett Bay. It was co-chaired by Kelly and Bernie Lambrese, who warmly welcomed all attendees to “the Bradley family.”

Following remarks from hospital leadership and the Lambreses, 11-year-old patient speaker Brody received a standing ovation while sharing how Bradley’s Children’s SafeQuest Program helped him overcome a variety of behavioral health challenges.

Auctioneer Harry Santa-Olalla hosted a spirited auction, with coveted items including a week-long stay in a luxury home in Costa Rica; a New England sports package that featured tickets to Red Sox, Celtics, and Patriots games; and an opportunity to spend a day on a movie set with Emmy-award winning producer William Horberg.

The auction was followed by a special fund-a-need to benefit the Bradley Playground Fund. In conjunction with a matching $400,000 grant from the Murray Family Charitable Foundation and major support from Betty and Joe Brito, Aurelia Papitto and William Young, Gilda and David Piccoli, II, and the Providence Journal Charitable Legacy Fund, along with many other outstanding supporters, the effort fully funded the creation of a new splash pad, where children will be able to take part in safe and engaging water play while receiving treatment. The remainder of the Playground Fund will help to support the enhancement and renovation of outdoor patient spaces, while also allowing for the purchase of specialized play equipment.

Bradley Hospital extends its deepest gratitude to the 2022 Bravo Bradley Title Sponsor Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation; Title Donor Aurelia Papitto and William Young; Presenting Level Donors Susan O. and David A. Brown, Bernie and Kelly Lambrese, Gilda and David Piccoli, II, and Roger and Cynthia Sherman; Platinum Level Sponsors Amica, William and Christine Carr, and NEMD Architects Inc.; and Gold Level Donors Betty and Joe Brito, Jr., William and Sinesia Karol, Kate Luckett, Tricia S. O’Neil, CFA, Descendants Wealth Management of Raymond James, Carol A. Peterson, Nancy S. Slater, Sam A. Slater, Cox Business, and TRAC Builders, and the many other generous supporters and sponsors who helped make the event possible.
