Bradley Schools Give Back

While we benefit from others’ generosity, we believe in giving back, and teach our students the importance of their contributions to the community. Some examples of these activities include:

  • Our students work in community volunteer placements, helping out at programs such as food banks, food delivery to seniors, and community gardens (shown left: students grew many plants and enjoyed the fruits [and vegetables!] of their labors).

  • Students and staff organize food drives to create Thanksgiving baskets for needy families.

  • Our staff provide training and outreach to school and community groups.

  • Our Partnership classrooms, which are embedded in public schools, offer an opportunity for a daily exchange of information and resources with public school teachers and specialists.

  • Our staff participate in fundraising efforts for organizations such as the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, and the Autism Project of Rhode Island.

  • Our schools have donated to charitable efforts of some local police departments

  • Staff members have donated “dress down day” money to community causes

  • Our students begin to learn job-related skills via volunteer opportunities such as Meals on Wheels and the Newport Summer Lunch program.
